Gilly, This is getting way beyond my knowledge. I know you have spent a lot of
frustrating time trying to solve the problem but I wonder if a query in a
different newsgroup will get you results.
There are utilities on the TechNet site that might help.
FileMon and RegMon will show you all "access denied" errors that
occur, so that you the change the necessary permissions on a file-to file or
Registry subkey basis.

I wish I could have been more help.

Post by GillyOk - found out how to edit the permissions, i've done that but still no joy.
To be honest im not sure if I have done it correctly so I change the
permissions to everyone and included to write which I didnt really want to do
and it still didnt make any differance so I set the permission back to
read/excecute.
Surely microsfot should have a fix for this as it looks like they have
casued the problem?

Post by GillyHi Mary,
This looks like the cause (sorry I missed this one in my search on the
code). I have a slight problem in carrying out the fix on adding everyone to
the permissions in that i cannot edit or add any permissions. The Add box is
grayed out and I cant edit my permissions to give me access to edit or add.
I dont know if you can help me on that one or not?
At least we are moving in the direction that should solve it.
Cheers

Tools,
Microsoft Clip Organizer. When the Organizer opens, tools, compact. You
could
try a detect and repair as well.
