Clip Art error in Office 2007
(too old to reply)

Office 2007 Clip Art on top of 64Bit Windows 7 does not work for me.

The Clip Art Task pane, both in Publisher and Word, comes up just fine.

The error manifestations are - so far - 2 in number:

1)... The "Search In" field will not expand when the "All collections"
"Everywhere" plus sign is clicked. And,

2)... Searching for anything just produces a "Windows Error" sound - no
message.

Clue 1)... I have already Right Clicked and run the cmd propt as admin and
tried the REGSVR32 OLE32.DLL solution. The Registration occurs fine but the
problem remains.

Clue 2)... The Windows App. log shows Windows Error Reporting Event Id: 1001
with some detail below.
Fault bucket 862572566, type 5
Event Name: Office12AssertTimer
Response: Not available

Office 2007 Clip Art works fine on my Vista 32Bit machine and Also on my
64Bit Win Server 2008 Machine.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Open the Organizer from Start, Microsoft Office Tools. The Clip Organizer has its
own Detect and Repair in the Help menu. It might help to compact the Organizer.
Tools, compact.

Have you tried renaming the Mstore10.mgc to Mstore10.old?
It is in a folder similar to this:
C:\Users\<<user name>>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Clip Organizer

Some information here

Open the Organizer from Start, Microsoft Office Tools. The Clip Organizer has its

This allowed my clipper to start functioning again - thank you. But I still
had - personal - duplicate "collections" underneath "My Collections" - NOT
favorites or unclassified, just my own

It might help to compact the Organizer.
This enabled me to delete/nuke/get rid of half of the personal duplicated
"collections" above - but only half!

C:\Users\<<user name>>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Clip Organizer
This enabled me to get rid of the other errant half and put the clipper back
together again.

That was easy - only took 90 minutes from start to finish!!

Thanks for your suggestions Mary - 'specially the final rename location. I
appreciate your time spent in providing me with accurate solutions.
