How to Add Pictures, Clip Art, etc.. to Word document

I have wasted almost two hours trying to figure out how to do such a simple
thing as add a photo or clip art to a document in Office Home & Student 2007
and have not succeeded -- completely. I can get it in the document but then
CANNOT MOVE IT ANYWHERE I WANT ON THE PAGE! I have read the Help info and it
still doesn't work. In my old version of Word I could just select a photo or
clip art and "drag and drop" it where ever I wanted on a page (it only took a
few seconds to accomplish) -- but the nerd-head who worked in Office 2007
version had to go and make it difficult if not impossible. I've tried right
clicking on the photo/clip art and selecting Properties to select other than
in-line layout but I never even see that option! I don't know if I'm missing
something in my version of Office 2007 or what is going on but I cannot
perform a simple step such as select a photo/clip art and put it/move it
where ever I want on a page. Can someone PLEASE HELP?

Right-click the image, click text wrapping, select any wrap but inline.
