How can I get Microsoft Clip Gallery to work in Vista/Office 2007? I tried
to use the Clip Organizer that is provided in Office 2007, but it doesn't
automatically copy over the keywords from the thousands of Clip Gallery files
that I have on my hard drive. What can you suggest?

I can only suggest trying to install the Gallery as a standalone. Insert your
2000 disk and install the Gallery. Drag the CAG icon to your desktop or Quick
Launch. You can drag and drop the images. You also can insert from the Insert
Menu in your Office applications, Objects, scroll down to the Gallery.

I can't guarantee it will work, I know I lost my Gallery when I installed office
2007. I have re-installed it a dozen times and it still doesn't work. Vista is
no help since it doesn't generate .wmf thumbnails. There are third party
software packages that will generate .wmf thumbnails. It is helpful to know the
prefixes, for example, AN is usually an animal clipart, TN is transportation, BS
is business and so on.

Thank You! I was able to install the clip Gallery from my Office 2000 CD
onto my Vista computer sucessfully.

Is Microsoft doing anything about .wmf thumbnails. You mentioned the 3rd
party software for displaying .wmf thumbnails. Can you tell me how to get
that.

In Word and Publisher, when I scroll down to Gallery, I find no clip art.
Is there a way to get the Gallery clip art with their keywords into the Clip
Organizer.

You can only get the keywords into the Organizer manually. It is a tedious
endeavor.

In your Office applications, Insert, Object, scroll down to Microsoft Clip
Gallery.

Do an Internet search for a .wmf generator.

www.irfanview.com is free and can generate .wmf thumbnails. Get the plug-ins
too.

Are you aware of any software (free or for-purchase) that will import the
clip art (including keywords) from the Clip Gallery to the Clip Organizer?

No I don't. I wish I did though. Microsoft has its own proprietary formats that
can't be used by other vendors.
