Can't print .png files

I often download clip art from Microsoft office, convert the file to pdf
using a free pdf converter I found on the internet, and place in documents
using Adobe programs (InDesign, Illustrator, etc) for graphics layouts.

No problem converting and altering files ending in .wmf.
Files that end in .png look like they convert to pdfs, but will not print
out on our HP laser printer. Everything around them prints, but the picture
in .png disappears.

Any suggestions out there? What am I doing wrong?

What version Office are you using? Is your printer driver current?

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional

Printer drivers should be current as the HP printer is used with Adobe CS 2
for plate output. Not current enough?

I'd look at your printer settings to be sure you have printing images enabled.
Or the program settings. You'd probably get better answers asking in an Adobe
forum or looking at the support documents on the HP site.
