I am very new to using webcams having installed one yesterday because it was
required for online class. After looking at the image frm the webcam it
occurred to me that I wouldn't need to worry as much about cleaning and to
improve image in general, it would be great if I could use an image as a
static digital background for the webcam image.

I assumed this wouldn't be too difficult but I have spent 2 hours on the
internet and have yet to find one site that addresses this issue. Essentially
I would want to keep the subject and foreground" live", but have the
background something more flattering than a messy room.

Anyone have any ideas? I would greatly appreciate any help

Easiest solution, hang a curtain on the ceiling, when you use the webcam pull
the curtain down.
