How do I get Picture Manager to read my Nikon RAW files?

I understand that there are various forms of RAW files, depending on the
company, I would like to be able to open my Nikon RAW files with Picture
Manager. Is this possible? And if so, what do I nead to do or download to
make it happen? I am using Office 2007 but the Picture Manager says it is
version 12.0.4418.1014, 2006.
Thanks!

Picture Manager is not compatible with RAW
image files. And be aware that the SDK for
each new camera model that is released can
be different...so even if an app opens your current
Nikon RAW files...it may not continue to work if
you purchase a more recent camera.

Microsoft Office Picture Manager
Graphic File Types

You may be able to view your RAW files with the
following freeware::

Download IrfanView
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967
(get the plug-ins too)
http://www.tucows.com/preview/415586

FastStone Image Viewer

If you are running Vista...you can download a
plug-in that may enable you to view the files with
Windows Photo GAllery.

Thanks, John,

I downloaded IrfanView and the plugins and it worked like a dream. Great
little program. I had tried a bunch of other ones to no avail, so I am very
relieved to find one that works.

Much appreciated!
