I am presently using Win XP Pro and Office 2000 Pro. When I try to insert
clip art in any Office program, it hangs for about 30 seconds and then I get
the message, "Cannot start Microsoft Clip Gallery. Please run Office 200
setup to install this feature." I have tried this but it doesn't work. I have
tried "Detect and Repair" but that doesn't work. I have tried "Repair" from
the Office 2000 CD but it doesn't work. I have tried double-clicking on the
artgalry.exe but it doesn't work. I have tried renaming the artgalry50.mmc to
artgalry.old and it doesn't work. I tried deleting artgalry50.mmc and it
doesn't work.

Help!

The first thing would be to double-click the Artgalry.exe, which you have done.
Renaming the .mmc, which you have done.
Did you repair Office from the CD? The Cagcat50.mmc file maybe damaged.

This article has some registry help and shows how to rename the artgal50.mmc
file.
