I get the popup regarding adding the WMP to mini-mode. I would like to do it!
I've right-clicked on the blank area and go to toolbars but WMP is not a
choice. Any ideas as to what I can do to add it?

Have you tried Start, Programs, drag the Windows Media Player icon to the
desktop?
