Unless you have a copy of the original you may
be out of luck. When you edit a digital image
and save the result with the same name...the
original image is overwritten and is not recoverable.

In the future...use Save As and give the edited
version a different name...then you will have both
versions.

Another way is to make a copy of your original
and edit the copy.

If you cropped it using the crop tool in PowerPoint and did not compress the
image, just use the crop tool and drag the edges back out to uncrop it.

It would be the same in Publisher or Word too. As long as it wasn't compressed
the poster can restore it.
