I am having another problem importing png files into BOTH ClipArt Gallery and
ClipArt Organizer. Most of the files end up having a black background. I
dealt with the problem by simply making the background transparent but that
doesn't work with things like a black cat. Yes--I renamed the filter to
"old" and even copied a new filter from another computer. Any more ideas?

What version of Office are you using? Do you have the service pack?

I do believe many .png images with the black background are transparent by
default. How do these images print?

Unless I remove the black background after I insert the picture it stays
black--on most of them. I'm using OfficeXP--Word 2002, I thinlk.

Update--I think part of the problem is that I"m downloading the clips to my
flashdrive and then putting them in the gallery since I don't have internet
at home. I just downloaded and printed one off this computer--a nice black
cat--and it was fine. Does that sound logical?

Update2--It was just(apparently) the one picture that OfficeXP had a problem
with--I have now downloaded every update imaginable--I installed Word2000 on
my machine and the picture came out fine. I didn't want to keep Word2000 on
there for just one picture file so I uninstalled it.

the problem is I'm not sure how I sorted it out either. Should I put all
three OfficeXP service updates on the computer?
