I have been trying to download clip art using Safari 3 on a Mac, but cannot
get anything to recognise the .mpf file format which is downloaded. Last
time I downloaded clips it was a .cil format which was automatically imported
into clipart. What's happened?

Are you checking the option to download .cil images on the download page. There
are two options on the page, one for Clip Organizer which are .mpf images and
one for the Clip Gallery, which are .cil images.
