Separation

I have a picture with a background I do not want. Can I remove the background
or separate the two? I've tried with removing the background from the Insert
Menu but it hasn't worked

What format is the picture? If the picture is a .wmf or .emf you can ungroup it
in your Office program and delete the background. If it is a .jpg you will have
to use a photo editing type program to erase the background if the background is
complex. There is a transparency tool you could try in your Office program or
select the picture, use the edit points tool.
