(too old to reply)

I have been given a CD with tiff pictures. Tried to open using Picture
Manager. All i get is a tiny red X square. Took it to my colleague's
computer. She got the same thing. She had Photoshop and was able to open
images but only in b & w.
When I load the CD, and go to My Computer, I do see the color thumbnails.
What do I need to do with Picture Manager to view and copy these pictures?

Thank you!

Could you upload one of the TIFF files
to the following site so we could inspect it?

"YouSendIt"
http://www.yousendit.com/

All you have to do is enter an e-mail
address in the "To:" (Recipient) field
and click the "Browse" button to select
the file you wish to upload. Then click
the "Send It" button.

The next screen that appears will give
you the download link. Just copy/paste
it into your newsgroup reply.

Thanks for uploading the TIFF file...

I was able to open it in IrfanView but
no other program I have would open it.
I think the files are corrupted in some
way.

The picture appears to be a screen shot
from a Satellite Map like Google Earth.

Here's a link for downloading IrfanView
if you would like to try it:

FWIW...If you open the files in IrfanView...
you can do a...File / Save As...TIFF or a
different format like JPEG or PNG...then
other software will open the files.

I couldn't open your file in the Picture Manager but I certainly could open it
in Irfanview and Xnview. I couldn't view it in Corel or some other editing
programs I have such as Paint.net.
