jpg files show "deflated" in properties, and can't be displayed

I have some jpg files that I used to be able to open, but now I can't. When
I look at their properties, they come up as "deflated" files. My picture
manager doesn't even recognize the files, but I can still find them when I do
a search for jpg files. Is there some way to retrieve these files?

I had never seen the word "deflated" associated with
image files so I spent some time searching the net.

Apparently these are files that have been zipped at
one time. Is it possible that you may have viewable
copies of the same images that have been unzipped?

Maybe the following articles will offer some insight into
the term.

Zip Upload

Deflate - file compression algorithm

Here's a link to a free self-extractor but I have no idea
how it's used or if it will work with your .jpg files.

Zipfusion

Maybe this info will get you started...good luck.
