Mary, I've just unchecked checked the web when searching, and that has
helped. It isn't freezing etc. Windows media is enabled.
The driver is the latest and that is another story, can't be rolled back at
this point, it would roll back on to the same driver. My security settings
are all on the default. I made office.microsoft a safe site.
I am using Vista.
I'll check and see if these setting made a difference, one day, when I need
to restart my computer, in case it freezes up. But at least I know what is
causing the problem, and that helps. I can just go and download clipart I
want as needed.
I'll let you know when I check out all the settings to see if that helped.
Thanks Mary,
Post by Mary SauerYou can roll back the driver.
Have you put the Office site in your trusted area?
Internet Explorer, tools, Internet Options, Security tab. Highlight Trusted
Sites, Click sites, Uncheck *Require server verification (https:) for all sites
in this zone.
Type http://office.microsoft.com in the address bar, click add.
If you have your security set too high, you may not be able to use the ActiveX
control. On the same screen as above, what is the Internet security set to? Mine
is the default Medium-High.
Is the Media Control enabled? Internet Explorer, Tools, Manage Add-ins.
Are you using Vista?

Post by Animal Watchermary, I see in other forums you suggest to adjust the accelerator, but mine
doesn't have that option, it is greyed out. The driver is just updated also,
last week, maybe that is the problem. ATI. Any firewall settings you
recommend?
So it just doesn't stick, I've restarted again, done everything again repair,
conpact, then it works for a bit. but when I go back it isn't functioning.
It freezes.
Post by Animal WatcherHey Mary,
At first when I went to start and opened Clipart there, eveything you
suggested was greyed out, if I clicked on anything in the lower toolbar, it
would grey out. I restarted and was able to then do a repair, then compact
as you suggested. Hope it sticks! Good to know that is there.
I use the free AVG virus and don't see an Office application. Brand new
computer! Frustrating to say the least. If this doesn't work, I'll let you
know. Thanks for your help.
Post by Mary SauerIf you have Norton, disable the Office Plug In. Some other virus applications
have similar settings.
How to use Office programs with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in

Can you open the Organizer from the Start menu? Start, Microsoft Office
Tools,
Microsoft Clip Organizer. When it opens, Help, Detect and Repair. Also do a
compact from the Tools menu.

Post by Animal WatcherIt doesn't freeze when I"m downloading, but when I am on the insert tab
and
click on "clip art" no matter what applications, Word, Powerpoint,
Outlook.
Post by Mary SauerTake a look at your security settings and your firewall. It could be a
permission issue. Your virus application might be the problem as well.

Post by Animal WatcherI just got a new computer with Office 2007. When I clicked in the
insert
tab
"clip-art", the side bar poped up and I typed in my search word. A
popup
asked if I wanted to include the online clip art, I clicked yes and
everything froze, I had to ctl-alt delete to get out. This happens
in
email
and word doc. What??? What can I do?! Thanks
