How do I crop the image out of a clip art file? I am making brochures and
need a leaf to be in it but do not want a white box to print out with the
green leaf.

What is the format of the clip?

What software are you using to make the brochures?

If it's simply to trim along borders, then Paint could be useful. Choose the
entire picture, then move it up and left so the the top and left borders
disappear. Then do trial and error on properties to reset the height and
width to just trim off the right and bottom border. This is a simple
solution, and I suspect that you might have a more complex problem.

If you are using an Office product, use the transparency tool. Touch the
background with the tool.

Mary,
You said to use the transparency tool... what kind of Office products
have/use that?
I'm running Office 2003.

Almost all Office products have the drawing/picture tools. Look here
http://msauer.mvps.org/microsoft_publisher_menus.htm
Scroll down, the transparency tool is in the right column.

That is so cool. I've always used MS Digital Image, which I love. But this
will help a lot of folks that I support. I'll have to play with it first...
but thank you for the quick replay!!
