I have been using Office 2000 since it's release, and hence Clip Gallery 5.0,
but have now installed Office 2007 on my new Vista machine.

I have thousands of clip art clips on my old machine (most from the Office
2000 installation and some from clips online) that I want to copy to the new
machine and import into the new clip organiser. I can do this but it just
won't categorise them and there are no keywords. This means I have no way of
managing all of the old clips without manually categorising and assigning
keywords, which for that volume is daft.

Interestingly there is a whole batch of Publisher clip art, put on my hard
drive from the Office 2007 install, that cannot be imported into clip
organiser without seemingly manually categorising and adding keywords as
well. This is crazy as it means I can't easily manage half of the clips that
are part of the Office 2007 suite without hours of work!

Is there no easy way of getting all the clips as described above into clip
organiser ready categorised with keywords? I would have thought there was
some conversion tool that allowed users to migrate their clip art to the
newer system?

I have spent hours on this already so would be grateful for any ideas.

Do you still have Office 2000 installation disks?
Install the Clip Gallery as a standalone program. Drag the CAG icon to the
desktop and create a shortcut. You cannot insert from the Gallery, but you can
drag and drop. You can also insert, object from the menus in Office programs.
I am not positive the Gallery will work for you. Office 2007 broke my Gallery
and I cannot fix it.

I do but it's not really a satisfactory situation. And I still have 1,600
clip art items installed by Office (Publisher) 2007 that I can't import into
Clip Organizer with any kind of order. That I find incredible.

The Organizer and the Gallery are not compatible. The Organizer will find all
the clipart on your hard drive, but you will have to organize it into categories
and manually supply key words.
