I saw an animated paperclip that moved around the screen with a friend that
had windows office. He recently passed away, but I thought it was COOL. Do
you know where it came from.

Are you referring to Clippit Microsoft Office assistant? You can launch the
Office assistant from the Help Menu of any Office Program

There was nothing there. It was all about managing topics that had nothing to
do with what I was looking for. Thanks anyway

No, I didn't see it. But I did when you sent it to me. I'm assuming this
'character folder' they're talking about is in my MS Office 2003 Word folder,
correct?
