Hi Ivy. Mary Sauer has been directing me to the "legalese." I haven't
gotten a specific answer to my specific question. It does appear, however,
that if the images came from our Windows Publisher program, we can use them
in the way I want, namely on a billboard. Our agency's attorneys are looking
into it for me.
Mary S. has referred us to the iStockphoto contact info. It appears that
their photos are reasonably priced. I hope that helps you.
Thanks for your response, and I wish you well. If I learn anything else,
I'll let you know.

Post by IvyHi D. Robinson,
I wanted to purchase a picture I saw on clip art for my company as well.
Have you heard anything back from the person you tried to purchase your
picture from and was it reasonalby priced?

Post by D. RobinsonThank you, Mary, for your quick response. If I read the legalese correctly,
it sounds like we CANNOT use the image, unless we "purchase" it from one of
the vendors. I now have an question in to iStockphoto about possibly
"buying" one of the images from them. This is new ground for me, and I'm
trudging through, trying to figure out what we can and cannot do, legally.
Thank you again for helping me out a bit with this.

There is a vendor's list on the Office clipart site, look on the left pane.

Post by D. RobinsonI copied two clipart images from Office Online that I'd like to use to create
billboards for a not-for-profit agency. Both images are photo images. Can
we use these images on a public billboard? Do I need special permission?
