How do I replace Icon's Pictures?

I have a disc full of different Icons to use as shortcuts. They are kind of
more animated and cooler looking. How do I replace the Icons I have
presently on my desktop to the ones I pick off the disc? Please Help.

Do these files have an .ico extension?

If yes...just right click an icon and go to...
Properties / Shortcut tab / Change Icon button...
browse to your collection and choose an Icon.
