I am a teacher and am going to start a business selling teacher resource
books for example, I wrote little sight word books for Kindergarteners and I
used Microsoft online clipart for the picture (ex: I see the red apple - with
a picture of an apple).

Also, I wrote a song for every letter of the alphabet. Each song is about
things that begin with that letter and I used online clipart pictures for the
songs.

I also have a poem for each letter and a craft that goes with the poem. The
craft is decorating the clipart. For example, I wrote a poem about an
umbrella. the kids will cut out a clipart picture of an umbrella and paint
it.

I have a valid license of Microsoft Word 2002 version program.

I plan on selling these and a few others on my website.

If I can use the online clipart, do I need to put the Microsoft clipart
copyright information?

thank you so much for your help!

Who determines where the primary value lies? If I make a mini 6 page book
with simple text like "The apple is red. The apple is green. The apple is
yellow." with a picture of an apple, I would say the words and purpose of the
book (being to read the text) is the primary value. I would be advertising
it as sight word books and obviously because it is for Kindergarten, they
would need a picture to accompany the text.

I had seen a few replies from Paul for other posts saying that as long as I
am not selling a book of clipart, that the value would not lie in the media
element. Do you agree with this?

Kteacher, I cannot give legal advice. You will have to use your best judgment.
There are other legalese documents. Don't know if they are clearer.
