Cannot open downloaded clip art

I have cleaned out my temp folders, checked to be sure the active-x is
enabled, renamed artgalry.exe and removed and reinstalled clip gallery (very
scary playing with the registry!). I just don't know what else to do. Like
one of the other people, I had been able to download clips and then suddenly
i couldn't. I also made sure that microsoft was in the trusted area.

Are you using the Clip Gallery? The Gallery has its own help menu with
troubleshooting steps. Open the Gallery, Click on help. You need to double-click
the ARTGALRY.exe file, not change the name.

Sorry. Yes I am using Clip Gallery. This all started when I tried to import
a clipart into a Works file. I did try the fixes in the Clip Art Gallery
area first. Those didn't help, so I went back in the old questions and
answers and found the exact problem from 2004. I tried the fixed suggested
by Paul Ballou. It still didn't work. I checked to be sure that the .cil
opens with the proper program. When I double click on ARTGALRY.exe, I got a
response that says "Clip Gallery is now configured to run on your computer."
It doesn't seem to help. I have 2 ARTGALRY.exe files, btw. One is in the
artgalry folder in Microsoft Shared and one is in the clipart folder
Microsoft Shared. Should there be both folders, or should 1 of them be moved
into the other? They seem to have most of the same files within them.

Works has its own clipart, I don't know how Works handles it. The Gallery you
see in Microsoft Shared is part of Office.

There is a Works newsgroup, they may be able to help you.

The clipart never got that far. The message I got was a blue box. The top
of the box said: "C:\Program files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared|Artgalry\ArtGalry.EXE"
Then the message inside said: "could not open C:Documents and
Seetting\name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\SVJGRAE2\Clipart[1].cil" No matter which clipart file I
try to download, I get the same basic message. Another message said; "C/my
documents\Temporaty internet files\content.ie5\...\clipart[1].cil.

Move the Internet folder. In Internet Explorer, tools, Internet Options,
Browsing history, settings, move folder. It doesn't matter where you move it,
Windows Explorer will create a new folder automatically.
