I copied an animated .gif to my picture file. But when I insert it into my
PowerPoint it no longer moves.

Not sure about this, but I believe the only way you will see animation in
PowerPoint is to preview the slide.

I tried that. I previewed it and did the slide show. It doesn't move.

Not sure about this, but I believe the only way you will see animation in
PowerPoint is to preview the slide.
