There are some other things to try. Put Office in your trusted site area. In
Internet Explorer, tools, Internet Options, Security tab, High-light Trusted
sites, click sites button. Uncheck
"Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone." Type
http://office.microsoft.com in the address bar, click add.
Be certain you have the ActiveX Control enabled. In Internet Explorer, Tools,
Manage add ons.
Empty your temporary cache, in IE, tools, delete files.
Move the temporary folder. In IE, tools, Settings, Move folder.

Post by BGDdid the rename, the new filter copied in was slightly larger - but still same
problem, even after re-boot. Checked again with Java and do have the most
recent version. Any other suggestions?

Rename PNG32.FLT to PNG32.old. Drag a new instance of the filter from your setup
disk.

Post by BGDusing Office 2002. How do I check for a corrupted filter and how correct it?
Post by Mary SauerWhat version Office are you using? Have you thought about a corrupted
filter?
If
you are using Office 2003, did you install the service pack? There is a png.dll
installed with the service pack.
We had this Clip Organizer error about Catastrophic failure with error
0x8000FFFF. Did a manual update of Java, that is, downloaded file to disk
and updated from there. For some reason an automatic Java update kept
hanging so I did a manual update (after rebooting to make sure automatic
install was ended). Now Clip Organizer does not give above error.
