More details please...

What version of Windows are you running?

Do you want to create a Data DVD for
archive purposes?

Or...do you want to create a Video DVD
that will play in a free standing DVD Player?

What DVD Authoring software are you using?

Thank you for your reply. I am using Windows XP Professional Version 2002
Service Pack 3. I want to create a DVD to be able to play it on a DVD player.
I am using PowerProducer as a DVD software authoring.
Thank you again.

The following site shows MPEG4 compatible with
PowerProducer Version 5 but not Version 4.

PowerProducer
http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerproducer/compare_en_US.html

Anyway.....

Try converting the video clips to the .wmv format
before importing into the authoring software.

The following freeware can do the conversion:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW...when installing...you may want to uncheck
all the boxes on the final screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
open the program and choose an Output Folder...
(this is where you will find your files after they are
converted)

Drag/drop your video clips onto the main screen...

Select 'All to WMV' / OK...

Click...Start...on the toolbar...

That should do it...

Thank you John for your help.

I did it, and I was able to convert all the files to WMP. However, now that
I want to burn the files into a DVD disc (4.7 GB) it does not recognize the
disc as a DVD but rather as a CD. Which means, that I would need 5 discs in
order to able to copy them all. Any suggestions?

Thank you again,
Sol

It may be a dumb question...but do you have a DVD Burner?

FWIW...you may have better luck burning the Video DVD
if you use the following freeware:

(FWIW) It's always a good idea to create a System
Restore Point before installing software or updates)

DVD Flick
http://www.dvdflick.net/

Be sure to read the Guide:
http://www.dvdflick.net/guide.php

If you have problems downloading DVD Flick...
try the following direct link:
http://tinyurl.com/yzx9sck
or...
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/dvdflick/dvdflick/DVD%20Flick%201.3.0.7/dvdflick_setup_1.3.0.7.exe?use_mirror=softlayer

Save the file to a folder on your hard drive and
install from there.

Tutorials:

DVD Flick Tutorial
http://beginwithsoftware.com/videoguides/dvd-flick-guide.html

Burn Any PC Video Format into DVD
http://www.freevideoworkshop.com/dvdflicktutorial.htm

To create a basic Video DVD that should play in a free
standing DVD player...try the following...

First...read the DVD Flick Guide to familiarize yourself
with the program.

Open DVD Flick and insert a blank DVD in your burner.

If your computer's Autoplay window opens....just close it.

Click the Project Settings button and go to...Video /
Target format...residents of USA...choose...NTSC /
Accept.

Left click the Add title button and browse to your
Movie Clips and select the ones you want on the DVD.

You can arrange them by selecting one and then use
the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

Left click the Create DVD button / OK / Yes / Yes.

Wait while the DVD is created.

When the text "Finished Successfully" appears you
may close DVD Flick. Now you can eject your DVD
and play it in your DVD player.

At some point you may wish to purchase more
advanced software like Cyberlink, Nero, Roxio,
Ulead, etc...but at least this is a start.

Good luck.
