Please tell me how to set Real Player as the default video player in XP.

I would try the following...proceed at your own risk.

I woudl suggest that you create a System Restore
point before making changes...just in case something
goes wrong.

Open Windows Media Player and go to...
Tools / Options / File Types...uncheck them all /
Apply / OK. Close WMP.

Open RealPlayer...go to...Tools / Preferences /
Content / Media Types / Make RealPlayer My
Universal Media Player.

Thanks John, I could not find 'tools' on Windows Media Player, but Real
P)layer alreaady was set to Universal, so I assume that all is well. I have
another question which I will put in a new post.

Right click the top bar where you see: Now Playing, Library, etc...
choose...Show Menu Bar.

If RealPlayer opens when you try to play a video...your settings
must be correct. If you still have issues you may need to uncheck
the File Types in Windows Media Player.
