When I try to download clip art, it all seems to go well (no error messages);
however, the piece of clipart does not appear in the clip organizer. This is
on my Toshiba laptop. I've done this successfully before with this machine.
I have another laptop and have no problems!!??

Have you emptied your temporary cache? In Internet Explorer, tools, Internet
Options, delete, delete files.

Downloaded clips will go into a folder in My Pictures named Microsoft Clip
Organizer, are the clips there?
Have you compacted the Organizer? In the Organizer, tools, compact.

They are not appearing in the Microsoft Clip organizer. Only some old clips
downloaded a few months ago are there. I compacted the Organizer as you
suggested. I'm wondering if the porblem is with the ActivX???

There is an article about ActiveX
Downloading clips, templates, and training with the ActiveX control
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HP010349411033.aspx

In Internet Explorer, Tools, Manage Add-ons, Disable or Enable Add-ons.
Show: Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer
Scroll down to Microsoft Office Template and Media Control, be sure it is
enabled.

Thanks. I've read the article. I've added the office site to the trusted site
list; I've made sure all add-ons are enabled, I've defragmented, rebooted,
and just bought a program -Registry Patrol- to clean up stuff on my laptop.
I've compared the security levels of this laptop with my work laptop which
downloads the clips just fine. This laptop downloaded things fine just a few
months ago. I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

Some other things to try:

Have you renamed the Mstore10.mgc file? Rename it to Mstore10.old

It is in a folder similar to this: (Hidden)
C:\Documents and Settings\<<user>>\Application Data\Microsoft\Clip Organizer

The Organizer has its own detect and repair in the Tools menu.

Can you go straight to the Office web site copy/paste to your applications?
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/FX101321031033.aspx

Move your temporary folder. In Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options,
Browsing History, Settings, Move Folder
