Do all purchased CD's come formatted? We used to have to format.
My computer says there is nothing in the drive, when it really is in there.

Formatting a CD may be required for packet
writing but otherwise it would not be necessary.
I've burned hundreds and have never formatted one.

You may have a problem with your drive.

You may need to buy another CD Drive or maybe the CD is a DVD and you drive
might not support DVD's.
